Max Thomas was born in Orlando, Florida on February 10, 1943 and grew up in western Winter Park, Florida – what is now I-4 between Fairbanks and Lee Rd. He attended Killarney Elementary, Robert E. Lee Jr. High School, and Edgewater High School. After Graduation, He attended Chaphi Computer Institute for a 12 month computer programing course.
From May of 1964 to May 1966 Max served in the United States Army. He had an E-4 rank and served in the Military Police.
Max met Jane through his mother; she sent him a picture of Jane and asked him to write her; he did and they were married July 22, 1966. Jane grew up in East Orlando, near Union Park on a cattle ranch. She always had a horse growing up and became a real life cowgirl. Jane has worked at Central Florida Bible Camp for the past 25 years as Food Service Manager.
Max works with anything mechanical and loves building drag race cars. He worked as a commercial photographer for 25 years, merchandizing for 11 years, and is now retired.
Max and Jane attended Northside Church of Christ in Altamonte Springs where they met Eugene and Carol Kessinger. Through their influence, Max and Jane came to know and obey the Gospel in 1975. In 1990, they placed membership at the Mount Dora Church of Christ and have been faithful members ever since.
Max and Jane have two children: David Paul Thomas and Jennifer Lesli Thomas.
Their son David and his wife Diane have blessed Max and Jane with their first grandchild, Myra.
On January 4, 2015 Max was selected to serve as Deacon. His responsibility is the maintenance of Building and Grounds.
